Maximize your income to ensure your budgeting program is successful.
There are two key components in any solid financial plan. One is limit your expenditures - the other, the one we often overlook, is to increase your income as much money as possible.

Budgeting as an immediate debt relief solution and also as a long term financial strategy is a proven best practice. Living on a budget is what the best money managers do.
Logically, the fastest way to get out of debt and start saving money for the future would be to reduce your current expenses, coupled with an increase in income.
Many people think they have control over the first part, but little to no control over the second part. “How can I make more money?” they think. Short of getting a raise at work, there’s not much you can do… right?
Or is there?
The fact is, there are plenty of things you can do to kick-start your personal budget to be more effective. If you’re absolutely serious about wanting to get out of debt, you can do it.
Yes, it will take extra work and sacrifice, but the reward - the peace of mind that comes from being debt-free, the extra income you’ll have once you no longer owe half your paycheck to the credit card companies - makes it all worthwhile.
For starters, perhaps you could work overtime hours on your current job. If not, perhaps there’s a small home based business opportunity you could run over the Internet. What skills do you have that you could use in freelance or consulting work?
If one spouse works full-time while the other stays home with the kids, perhaps there are things the homemaker can do to earn a few dollars via some sort of stay at home business. Even a small part-time job like delivering papers or pizza can produce helpful income to support your budgeting program.
Don’t dismiss the power of the Internet. Sites such as eBay, for instance! Look through your garage and attic. Find those old items you would normally allow to attract dust for years and sell them on eBay instead.
You’d be amazed what people will pay for! Many entrepreneurial types make a good secondary income just from eBay, through buying items and reselling them at a profit.
Basically, being in debt is like being in a deep hole with no ladder and no rope. You need to dig yourself out, and you want the biggest shovel you can find to help you. The more money you can bring in, the faster you'll emerge from the hole and the better off you’ll be.
No budgeting program is “easy” to live by. All budget programs require commitment, self-discipline and a little sacrifice. But when you’re out of debt and truly living debt free, you’ll be glad you made the choice for personal and financial freedom.
You’ll finally be able to enjoy life without the stress and worry meeting payment due dates and avoiding bill collectors. Living in a state of financial peace is what it's really all about.
"Today, there are three kinds of people: the have's, the have-not's, and the have-not-paid-for-what-they-have's.”
