Easy to Get Credit Cards Have a Catch!

Question:   Where can I find easy to get credit cards and will getting a new card help me to re-establish my credit?

Answer:      Secured credit cards are probably your best option if you already have a poor credit history.

Cash secured cards are the quickest and best way to begin re-establishing your credit because it also forces you to change your spending behavior. The card will not allow you to charge more than the pre-paid cash balance.

"Rather go to bed supperless than rise in debt."
- Benjamin Franklin

This strategy is good for you and good for the lender because it eliminates any risk to the lender. This may sound strange, but with normal credit cards, the company functions as the lender supplying you with the money. With a secured credit card, you essentially become your own lender.

These easy to get credit cards only work when there is an available cash balance, which also eliminates any over limit or late payment fees, which you might recall add up fast!

Credit card companies often inform card holders that their limit has increased. The increased limit entices people to spend more, which contributes to their mounting debt. Not a good thing!

However, if you decide you want to increase your card limit by $500 you will first need to pre-pay the card by the same amount. This will encourage you to stay within a pre-planned budget – what a concept!

Even with a secured credit card, you are well advised to keep the amount available to a fairly low amount. Remember, the idea here is to get away from using credit cards at all.

As you do make charges against your pre-paid balance and then make your payments on time, your credit history will steadily improve. Your credit report will slowly but surely reflect your newfound responsibility as well as show the improvement in your credit habits.

In the future, prospective creditors will be able to see how you re-built your credit by making solid changes to your financial lifestyle.

While these easy to get credit cards allow you to begin to re-establish your credit, you should keep in mind that focusing on doing so is not necessarily the best use of your time.

Think about it - the only reason you need good credit is if you plan on requiring a loan for an important item such a home. Otherwise, you are better off focusing on saving in advance for whatever it is you wish to buy.

The ultimate goal is to stay out of debt once and for all. Avoiding any future debt is the best way of showing that you are in control of your financial future. It’s also a great way to demonstrate that you do not wish to make the same mistakes again.

So if you are still seeking out those easy to get credit cards, stick to a pre-paid secured card, and do everything within your power to never buy on credit again. You’ll be glad you did.

"It's not your salary that makes you rich,
it's your spending habits."
- Charles A. Jaffe

Reasons why you should make the decision today to get out of debt:

Debt is NOT your friend. It's not a wonderful "tool" for building wealth. That's a myth.

The Debtor is a slave to the lender. Real "freedom" is when YOU are in control of your money, and when your money is working for you.

If all your income goes to making payments, you have no personal freedom to follow your dreams.

When you eliminate your payments and use that money to save, you quickly begin building wealth.
