Fix Credit Score - No Overnight Success

How to successfully fix credit score results? The best and only permanent way to tackle your bad credit score is, once and for all, to start managing your money in a more responsible manner.

After all, not doing this very thing is what has landed so many in financial crisis. So be certain to take control over your finances. Budget, raise extra cash, pay off debt, and control spending.

"Debt is like any other trap, easy enough to get into,
but hard enough to get out of."
- Henry Wheeler Shaw

If you are currently experiencing financial hardship, you should know that the recovery process might very well be a slow and somewhat painful process.

Financial recovery will take time, focus and self control, but is definitely worth it in the end. There are no quick fix answers. The only way to permanently raise your fix credit score results is to learn to manage your credit more responsibly and to work from a well planned budget.

A few steps in the right direction can go a long way to fix credit score results and get you back on the path of financial wellness.

First of all, you have to pay your bills on time. Your payment history is affected by a single bill that is overdue for more than 30 days. Reject any offers by your credit card company to skip payments. Skipping payments does not really help you, and the interest keeps piling on the total unpaid balance. The first thing you need to do is get current with all your payments, and stay current.

The second step is a two part change. Firstly, create and stick to a monthly budget. Once your budget is in place, don’t spend more than the allotted amounts, except in emergencies.

At this stage, it is essential to manage your checkbook daily. Don’t wait to balance it once a month when you get your statements. Make use of the online ‘bill pay’ facilities, which most large banks offer for free. This allows you to easily review any money that has come in or gone out of your account on a daily basis. Checking balances daily makes you much more aware of your spending and helps you to stick to your budget.

Next, is to reduce credit-card balances. The closer your balance is to your total credit limit; the worse your credit score. Also, hold on to any unused lines of credit, don’t close the accounts as this will negative impact your score.

To raise and help fix credit score results, it is better to hold on to the unused cards, but use only one, making use of only a small portion of the balance. By keeping your debt-to-credit ratio low will help your score. Pay the monthly balance in full if possible. Opening new accounts, managing them responsibly, and paying them off on time also raises your credit score.

It is a good idea to invest your resources in paying off the debt and find new ways to increase your cash flow, to generate extra income that can be devoted to paying off debt, which goes a long way to fix credit score results.

Do keep in mind, however, that if you decide you no longer wish to use credit and to do something completely ‘weird’, like live debt free. More power to you! This would definitely put you well ahead of your peers in the long run. Go for it!

There are a number of ways for earning a little extra cash to pay off debt, and a little research and common sense can make a substantial difference in your financial life, and life in general.

"Some debts are fun when you are acquiring them,
but none are fun when you set about retiring them."
- Ogden Nash, American Writer

Why Live Debt-Free?
Here's just a few great reasons why you should make the decision to get out of debt now:

Debt is NOT your friend. It's not a wonderful "tool" for building wealth. That's a myth.

Debt is dumb. It's purpose is to make creditors wealthy, not you.

The Debtor is a slave to the lender. Real "freedom" is when YOU are in control of your money, and when your money is working for you.

If all your income goes to making payments, you have no personal freedom to follow your dreams.

When you eliminate your payments and use that money to save, you quickly begin building wealth.

YOU CAN GET OUT OF DEBT... and start winning again.
