Think of all that you can do once you are free from debt!
You might not think that being 100% debt free would change you very much, but think again. So much of who we are is determined by what we do all day, and in our free time, and so much of that is determined by our financial situation.

"Money is a good servant but a bad master."

Lack of money causes worry, stress, arguments, anxiety, and depression. On the other hand, having ready cash can also bring about comfort and peace of mind - when you have enough of it, that is.
Think about being free from debt. What would be different about your life?
How’s this for starters: You’d have a lot more income. As it is, there’s probably a significant chunk of your paycheck every week that must go straight to the credit card companies.
What if you didn’t have those obligations anymore? Where would that money go instead? To a retirement fund? To a savings account? To make improvements on your home? To a family vacation? The possibilities are endless, aren’t they?
If you were free from debt, you’d be able to pursue goals that right now aren’t feasible. Instead of having to work extra hours at your job, you’d be able to relax and actually enjoy the things in life that provide personal fulfillment.
Perhaps you’ve always wanted to re-do a room in your house to turn it into a workshop or a sewing room. Maybe you’d like to be more involved in your community but simply lack the mental energy after worrying about your bills all the time.
Once you’re free from debt, your mind will be more clear, and you’ll be able to focus on more important things.
Getting rid of your debt might also improve your personal relationships. Money is the #1 thing that married couples fight over.
Being out of debt won’t completely cure all your money problems, of course, but it will significantly lighten the burden you currently feel. Without having to worry so much about how to make ends might while paying credit card bills, you’ll be less stressed and more relaxed.
So doesn’t it seem worthwhile to do whatever it takes to get out of debt?
Being in debt means being obligated to someone else, which means you’re never completely free. For true independence - and the wonderful peace of mind that comes with it - you must take control of your life and get rid of that debt.
Becoming debt free is greatest gift you could ever give yourself. Start today, you’ll be so glad you did!
