Identity Theft Check Review - Steps You Can Take Today

An identity theft check review is key to protecting yourself against ID theft.

Saying that one cannot fall victim to identity theft is an understatement in itself. ID theft is by far the fastest growing crime in America and currently there is no end in sight to the number of cases we will continue to see in this country and throughout the world.

"The safest way to double your money
is to fold it over and put it in your pocket.”
- Kin Hubbard

To protect yourself, you can take appropriate measures included in our identity theft check review.

These measures are not iron fisted but can reduce the possibility of becoming a victim of identity theft.

Destroying confidential Information: - This is the first and easiest way to prevent ID theft.

Shred all statements related to credit cards, statements or any data that has your financial information.

Secure your mail. It is best not to make any payments for bills and checks from your home, since they can be easily stolen from the mailbox and the payees name can be erased using solvents.

Instead, post them from a post office or any other location that is secure. Another way to deal with this is to empty the mailbox as quickly as possible or lock the mail box.

Secure and protect your social security number. Avoid carrying the card or any card that has this detail. Never put the number on checks since it is the first source of information to identity thieves and will provide them access to bank data and credit reports as well.

Credit card or debit card safety. - Keep both cards secure at all times if you don't want to be a victim of skimming. All receipts that have been generated by their use should be kept safely as well.

Credit card tabbing. - Always monitor your credit report, you are entitled to a free one every year. This free service is an important part of our identity theft check review process. If you are doubtful over any details of your report call the credit card company or creditor immediately.

Be aware of gangs or groups that commit identity theft check frauds in your area. Local news media typically report these crimes so be informed.

In general, if there is ever a problem and you think you are a victim of Identity Theft, the first best option is to inform the fraud department of the three main bureaus, which are Experian, Equifax and TransUnion.

Ask for a 'fraud alert' to be placed on the file that contains your data which will give you privileges like 'calls on every change'. These changes can be opening new accounts, purchases, etc.

The details and addresses of each are listed here:

Equifax, P.O. Box 740241, Atlanta, GA 30374-0241, 1-800-525-6285
Experian, P.O. Box 9532, Allen, TX 75013, 1-888-EXPERIAN (397-3742)
TransUnion, Fraud Victim Assistance Division, P.O. Box 6790, Fullerton, CA 92634, 1-800-680-7289

Understanding the various aspects of an identity theft check review is key to preventing yourself from becoming a victim. However, no matter how vigilant you are, you may still find your personal information stolen by thieves, as there are countless schemes out there at any given time.

The more you know, the better off you will be in the event you become a victim. Take steps immediately to protect and secure your personal information.

"Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed
is more important than any one thing.”
- Abraham Lincoln

Reasons why you should make the decision today to get out of debt:

Debt is NOT your friend. It's not a wonderful "tool" for building wealth. That's a myth.

The Debtor is a slave to the lender. Real "freedom" is when YOU are in control of your money, and when your money is working for you.

If all your income goes to making payments, you have no personal freedom to follow your dreams.

When you eliminate your payments and use that money to save, you quickly begin building wealth.

YOU CAN GET OUT OF DEBT... and start winning again.
