Here it is in plain terms: It’s easy to make money on the net. So why don’t more people do it? Because they go about it all wrong, that’s why.
Most people try to skip straight to the money-making part without first establishing a useful website that brings in a lot of traffic. That’s completely backwards, and it turns out badly for most who do it this way.
A teenage girl named Nori learned this important lesson early on, from her father, Ken - the founder of SiteSell.com and creator of the “Site Build It!” product.
As a family, they had traveled to the Caribbean island of Anguilla a few times, and Nori wondered if it might be a good topic for a website. Her dad encouraged her, just as he does with countless other SBI students, through the process of building her site and determining how to make money on the net.
Nori’s website is called Anguilla-Beaches.com. The site is one of the most highly visited website by people seeking information about the island of Anguilla.
First, you have to create content. Most people try to make money on the net by randomly grabbing at people’s wallets. But first you’ve got to give them a good REASON to come to your site - a reason other than to give you their money!
People on the Internet are looking for quality information. So make sure that “quality” is what you are providing to your visitors!
Nori had plenty of photos she’d taken during her family trips to Anguilla, and she put together lots of informative, interesting articles about the island.
Then she moved on to the next step, which is building up her web traffic. Her dad’s “Site Build It!” program shows you how to draw people to your site, and Nori was soon getting thousands of visitors per month, from all around the world.
Once you have a site full of great content, and once you’ve started bringing in a sizable amount of traffic, THAT’S when you can start thinking about how to monetize those visitors. (Monetizing, is the money-making part.)
For Nori to make money on the net, all she had to do was contact the Anguilla hotels, resorts, and other businesses, and work out an affiliate program with them, where she’d get a small commission for sending traffic to them.
There are also affiliate programs through sites like Amazon and Google that can bring in additional revenue streams. Whatever topic you’ve chosen for your site, the odds are very much in your favor that there are related products you can refer your visitors to, earning a commission for yourself from every sale.
As you can see, there’s no great mystery about how to make money on the net. It’s simply a matter of being patient and following a smart strategy.
Nori had a great teacher in her dad, but anyone can do it if they stick to the basics, follow the slow and steady approach, and remain focused on delivering quality products and services to their customers.
