Personal Finance Help - Start Kids Early, Begin Today!

Give your children some personal finance help in order to properly prepare them for their financial future.

All parents want to help their children avoid making the same mistakes they made, and that includes financial mistakes.

"The man who never has money enough to pay his debts
has too much of something else.”
- James Lendall Basford

Think about all the good money habits you wish you had possessed early on. How can you instill those habits and skills in your children? How can you help your kids grow up to be financially responsible, smart adults, and help them stay out of debt?

Here are some personal finance help tips for bringing up kids who understand money and how to make it work for them.

  • Help kids get interested in money early.
Show them how to sort coins, let them save change in a piggy bank, teach them that you use money to buy things you need. Take them with you to the grocery store and let them see how it works.
  • Give kids an allowance based on effort and chores.
It works best if your children’s allowance is connected to their making good effort and showing evidence of personal responsibility. After all, this is also how the real world works.

Pay them a base allowance, and provide additional opportunities to earn bonuses from time to time. A good rule of thumb for a child’s allowance is half the child’s age in dollars per week. So if the kid is 8, make the allowance opportunity $4 a week.

  • Teach them to save, and make it mandatory.
Saving is part of wise personal finance. Help children to understand this by having them save 1/4 of their allowance every week. Take them to the bank to open an account, and once a month, help them deposit their savings there.
  • Another good personal finance help tip is to show your children how they can earn money. Help them brainstorm ideas:
Babysitting for neighborhood families, mowing lawns, shoveling snow, etc.

Help kids see that while their “income” (their allowance) is at a fixed amount, there are always more things they can do to supplement it.

  • As children get older, bring them into the world of finance more.
Take them shopping and teach them how to compare prices and find bargains. Teach them to question the ads they see on TV and cut through the sales pitches to find the truth.

It may seem crass to make money such a big part of childhood, but like it or not, the world revolves around money. As adults, your kids will need to know how to get it, manage it, and spend it effectively.

By giving your children personal finance help and a good financial education, you’re preparing them for a better future.

"There is only one success -
to be able to spend your life in your own way.”
- Christopher Morley

Reasons why you should make the decision today to get out of debt:

Debt is NOT your friend. It's not a wonderful "tool" for building wealth. That's a myth.

The Debtor is a slave to the lender. Real "freedom" is when YOU are in control of your money, and when your money is working for you.

If all your income goes to making payments, you have no personal freedom to follow your dreams.

When you eliminate your payments and use that money to save, you quickly begin building wealth.

YOU CAN GET OUT OF DEBT... and start winning again.

We show you how...
