Prosperity: How to Attract It – Marden’s 1922 classic, is a prime example of his solid thinking and well-grounded philosophies on the true meaning of success.
Few people are more respected in the world of self-help than Orison Swett Marden.
His motivational books, first published in the early 20th century, are masterpieces of advice, inspiration, and common-sense values. Almost everyone who has written self-help books since then, has merely been following in Marden’s footsteps!
One of his main points describes in detail the power of positive thinking, or more specifically, the Law of Attraction. “Only by thinking abundance can you realize the abundant, prosperous life that is your birthright,” he writes. “In other words, according to your thought - will be your life, your supply, or your lack.”
The recent phenomenon “The Secret” employs this exact same philosophy. In fact, the author of “The Secret” will be the first to tell you she didn’t come up with the idea herself!
The Law of Attraction is a very old philosophy, and Marden almost literally “wrote the book” on it!
It’s important to understand that Prosperity: How to Attract It is more than a “feel good’, “positive thinking” sort of message. Marden provides down-to-earth, practical advice that has passed the test of the last 100 years.
Marden strongly advises against incurring debt: “Debt is like any other trap, easy enough to get into, but hard enough to get out of."
He also says this:
"Many people completely fail in life or are forced to live in mortifying poverty, to struggle along under the curse of debt, miserable and handicapped all their lives because they never learned how to finance themselves."
Truer words were never spoken.
Prosperity: How to Attract It - was first written in 1922, some 85 years ago. Yet, it continues to be printed and reprinted, borrowed, lent, read and re-read - nearly a century after Marden wrote it.
Why do you suppose that is? Could it be because the people who read it fall in love with it and instantly want to share their newfound zeal with everyone they meet?
Marden’s advice is to harness the power of positive thinking, to envision success for yourself and then to go out and do the things that will lead to it!
It sounds simple, and yet so few people actually implement these ideas. Prosperity: How to Attract It, serves as a sort of coach, a cheerleader, a motivator for anyone who aspires to achieve more in their life.
If reading this book doesn’t ignite your ambition and get you excited about thinking positively and achieving success, then you might want to check your pulse.
