- Drop all unnecessary and/or unused services. Cut back on things like your cable package, the gym membership you never use, and so on. Switch to a prepaid cell phone plan because it costs much less since you have no fixed charges, and only pay as you use.
- Eating out all the time, adds up to a large chunk of your cash outflow. Pack lunches to work and school, save going out to eat as a treat for special occasions.
- Cut down on, or quit, your bad habits, like smoking, or coffee from Starbucks everyday. This alone will improve your health and save you a significant amount of money.
- Switch to generic or store brand items especially on more frequently used items like paper towels, aspirin and detergent.
- Use coupons and sign up for supermarket loyalty programs to maximize savings.
- Ensure that future payments are always on time.
That’s right; pay ALL your bills on time.
- Limit or eliminate the use of credit.
Put away those credit cards, pay for as many things as you can, in cash.
- Bring current and/or pay off as many delinquent accounts as you can.
- Earn more.
Find ways of making some extra cash, and become devoted to reducing debt.
